The Director's Corner
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
Psalm 90:12
“Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most birthdays live the longest.”
For those of us who have lived a while (more than 3, 4, or more decades) we might look at our lives and try to determine if we have been successful. However, it may be difficult to determine what success actually means. It is unlikely any of us will ever accomplish as much as we would like to accomplish in a lifetime – to learn as much as we would like to learn or to experience as much as we would like to experience. We might question whether we have done enough to teach our children how to avoid trouble in the right way. We might wonder if we made the right career choices to advance in the direction we want to go. All of these questions focus on the path that we have chosen.
However, we need to remember that our Father in Heaven has placed us on the Earth for a reason. Each of us has a set number of days to accomplish our mission, and only the Father knows what that final tally of days will be. We need to be mindful of the way that we spend these days so that we can bring glory to God. We must ask God to provide the wisdom to know where and how to apply ourselves. Each day, we should ask, “What do you want me to learn today? What do you want me to experience?” When we ask God to set the goals of our lives, we can trust Him to teach us the most important lessons first and to reinforce them with patience and love.
Have you applied God’s wisdom to your goals yet today? Ask for this gift and you will be amazed at how far you will go! Have an awesome weekend!
